In cooperation with the Fraunhofer Transport Alliance and the House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM), the MDS hosted a Community Event in Frankfurt on 26 November 2024 on the topic of ‘Digitalisation and intermodality: new paths in mobility’.
The day was filled with 10 presentations and three panel discussions with a total of 18 speakers in front of almost 120 guests.
MDS Events
MDS on tour
At important national and international conferences, congresses and trade fairs, the MDS regularly exchanges ideas and follows current developments in the industry. As an exhibitor, keynote speaker or panellist, representatives of the MDS provide interested trade visitors with insights into the processes of an operating data room.
Through its presence and dialogue at these events, the MDS continuously makes new industry contacts. As a result, the network of the data sharing community continues to grow and offers a valuable platform for customised matchmaking between data providers and data consumers.
Own event formats
With its own events formats, the MDS offers its members thematic deep dives as part of the ‘MDS Explains’ series as well as the opportunity to network through regular online network meetings. In addition, the after-work event series ‘MDS Connect’ and the MDS Community Event are open to all interested parties.
MDS Explains: As part of the ‘MDS Explains’ series, info sessions are held for MDS members in which the MDS universe and challenges relating to data trading are explained by experts.
Network meetings: In this online format, companies present projects and topics relating to a specific domain in breakout rooms. Participants are representatives of companies from the MDS who want to network, discuss possible Use Cases or simply find out more.
MDS Connect: An after-work event series for MDS members and all those interested in the MDS in Munich with exciting presentations on a range of topics followed by networking over snacks and drinks.
MDS Community Event: Once a year, the MDS organises a large MDS Community Event with around 100 guests in Germany in collaboration with cooperation partners, to which the MDS invites its members and those interested in the MDS. The theme day is filled with exciting presentations and panel discussions and offers space for networking.
Online Info Session: The online info session is aimed at those interested in the MDS. In this online event, the MDS explains the visions and principles of the MDS, the opportunities and possibilities of data trading as well as how it works and the requirements.

ÖPNV Zukunftskongress
The ÖPNV-Zukunftskongress will take place from 5 to 7 May 2025 with around 600 participants. Organised by Zukunftsnetzwerk ÖPNV and NVBW, the three-day event is aimed at public transport stakeholders from the D-A-CH region. In addition to the congress, an exhibition will give participants the opportunity to present innovative products and services.
